I do not know the full story of Doom 3, but it seems Mars is still just a colony run by a corporation. So all major cities on Earth are ruins, and the remaining humans are hoping to travel away in spacecraft, but the spaceport has been invaded by demons, the doom marine finds he has to close the hell portal to make that possible, and it is in his home town, and he has to go through the hell portal to close it in hell. A hell portal had been opened on Earth and killed all the humans around it. The reason all humans had been killed in Doom 2 seems pretty self explanatory. That how DOOM 2 can be done.ĭoom 3 and Doom 2016 does not seem to take place after Doom 2, at least not in a way that Demons killed all humans on Earth. But when they arrive on earth all soliders are killed and only onem an remain alive. So DOOM2 can be about humans return on earth after so many years. That why both doom 3 and DOOM takes place on mars for most of the time. If earth has been destroyed in doomand the few remaining humans who managed to survive the demons attack went to live on mars. But does DOOM 2016 and DOOM 3(2004) takes place after the events of Doom 2? That will explain why they took place only on mars. I read yeaster after on the internet that the story was about most people have been killed and Doom guy was one of the very few survivors. But we never learned in what country and city doom 2 was set on and why Marine was the only human alive. But there werent any humans there only demons.
